Tottenham fans react on Twitter to Foster display for West Brom

By Harvey Byrne

Ben Foster pulled off a number of saves for West Brom on Saturday, despite his side’s defeat – and Tottenham fans were full of praise for the goalkeeper on Twitter.

The 33-year-old experienced goalkeeper was tested numerous times by the Spurs attack and it was through no fault of his own that he conceded four goals in the 4-0 defeat.

A Harry Kane hat-trick alongside a Gareth McAuley own goal ensured Tottenham all three points at White Hart Lane.

It was a match which Spurs dominated and very few Baggies players could say they finished with a good performance in north London.

However, Tottenham fans believe Foster impressed against their side and many were keen to recall that he usually puts in a good performance against Spurs.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Foster has now played in 21 fixtures for West Brom, conceding 28 and keeping just three clean sheets.

The experienced man has been one of the key aspects of Tony Pulis’ team this season, which has seen them settle in eighth place.

Meanwhile, the emphatic victory on Saturday has seen Tottenham rise up to second place with the rest of the league still to play over the weekend.

In other Tottenham news, Rafael van der Vaart issued his support for this Spurs star ahead of the game.
