Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko completed 78 minutes on Saturday in the win over Everton – and the club’s supporters were raving about his performance on Twitter.

The 28-year-old has endured a difficult first 12 months with Spurs since he moved from Newcastle last summer for £30million.

He has often been heavily criticised by fans and failed to cement his position in Mauricio Pochettino’s side last season.

However, the France international started at the weekend as Spurs cruised to a 3-0 away win at Goodison Park.

Harry Kane picked up his first two goals of the season for the visitors and Christian Eriksen also got on the scoresheet.

Spurs fans were delighted on social media with Sissoko for his efforts against Everton and many feel it was his best display since he moved to North London.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Sissoko worked well alongside Eric Dier in midfield and showed in glimpses why Spurs splashed out the money on him.

The versatile midfielder has shown he can be a powerful presence when he is on top of his game and proved that for France at Euro 2016.

He appears to be winning over the Spurs fans and will be desperate to find some consistency in his game this season.

Sissoko is competing for a spot alongside the likes of Dier, Mousa Dembele,Harry Winks and Victor Wanyama for a starting position, but Pochettino is likely to rotate his side due to a busy fixture list.
