Moussa Sissoko made a 30-minute substitute appearance against Manchester United on Sunday – and Tottenham fans on Twitter were impressed by his display.
The 27-year-old £30million summer signing had so far failed to impress in his opening appearances.
However, Spurs supporters were pleasantly surprised by him in the 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.
A first half goal from Henrikh Mkhitaryan ensured Manchester United all three points against the north London outfit.
Spurs’ attack was particularly wasteful over the duration of the match, but the performance of Sissoko, who came on for Son Heung-min in the 57th minute pleased fans.
The display led to many supporters on social media agreeing that the France international was their best player in the highly contested fixture.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Sissoko actually did okay today. Looks sooo uncomfortable on the ball though. #THFC

Not the losing #thfc but the absolute lack of purpose. It's OT so f what. Go have some intensity. Sissoko offered more in 20 than rest 4 90

Sissoko has played in 12 fixtures for the club this season with a return of just one assist.
An improvement in the Frenchman’s form could come as a huge help to Spurs’ attack, which is currently struggling for goals.
The north London club have the worst goals scored tally in the top five, eight behind second worst Manchester City.
However, Hull at White Hart Lane on Wednesday could present a good opportunity for Spurs to improve their ‘goals for’ column.
