Tottenham fans react on Twitter to stunning Son display v Swansea

By Harvey Byrne

Son Heung-min started for Tottenham in Saturday afternoon’s Premier League victory over Swansea, and fans on Twitter were delighted with the scoring display of the attacker.

The north London outfit hosted the struggling Swans in a game which Spurs were heavily expected to win beforehand.

The team duly delivered with a 5-0 victory. Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen struck two against the Welsh side, while Son himself also got on the score sheet.

The South Korea international caused problems on the left side of the pitch and his pace and high energy posed questions of the Swansea defence, as he bagged a goal and an assist.

This brought many plaudits from fans on social media, who were quick to praise the dangerous attacker, while his stunning strike on the half volley caught a lot of the attention.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Son has enjoyed a good run in the first team this campaign following a disappointing debut season, which brought just eight goals in 40 fixtures.

His goal against the Swans on Saturday means he has scored just two goals less in 15 fixtures this season.

He has played a key role in helping Tottenham to their fifth placed position in the league table.

However, they will still be keen to improve with a Champions League spot firmly in their sights.

They will battle with CSKA Moscow in the elite competition next on Wednesday before travelling to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the league on Sunday.
