Tottenham fans will love what Son Heung-min was spotted doing in homecoming vs Slavia Prague

Son Heung-min finally returned to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after leaving for LAFC during the summer transfer window.

It was almost like a passing of the torch in North London, as Son left for the MLS and Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, leaving Thomas Frank with some problems to solve.

The striker’s successor, Dominic Solanke, has been sidelined with injury for much of the 2025-26 campaign, forcing the Lilywhites to sign Randal Kolo Muani on a season-long loan.

Ironically, Kolo Muani has also struggled to stay fit, and right now, Spurs fans would give anything for the South Korean international to return to England in aid of their faltering attack.

Son Heung-min shares a special moment with his former teammates

Since moving to America, Son has notched 12 goals and three assists, becoming an integral part of LAFC’s team, and the 33-year-old has shown no signs of slowing down, at all, really.

Supporters have been waiting patiently to thank the winger for his decade of service in North London, and they were finally given that chance when he visited for the game against Slavia Prague on Tuesday, 9 December.

He was also able to see some old faces, ones which he had possibly not seen since leaving during the summer, and that was clear in his reaction when coming off the pitch before kick-off.

Taking to X (9 December), journalist Ryan Taylor wrote: “Nice moment there as Son Heung-min embraces Dominic Solanke, Brandon Austin and James Maddison at this side of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium pitch.

“Son and Maddison hug for a solid minute,” with the duo sharing many special years together before the former’s move away.

Tottenham fans will be desperate for James Maddison’s return

Maddison has been sidelined since August, having picked up a serious injury during pre-season, and the Lilywhites have certainly missed him and his creative juices.

Frank has hardly had the chance to work with the midfielder, but once he returns from injury, there should be no doubt over his spot in the starting lineup despite Xavi Simons‘ arrival.

While he has been on the sidelines, he has spoken glowingly about his time in North London, having signed from Leicester City in 2023, and fans will be waiting patiently for his return.

Maddison has now returned to the grass but remains training alone. That will come as a huge boost for the Lilywhites, but the manager needs to be careful with his progression.
