Tottenham have been handed a major transfer boost after AC Milan’s wide forward Suso revealed he was keen on a move to the north London club, according to a report.
The IBTimes UK has revealed that the 23-year-old has identified Tottenham as a possible destination this summer after Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino eyed the former Liverpool man as a replacement for Moussa Sissoko.
The news outlet claim that the AC Milan ace has also attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs including Everton, West Ham, and newly-promoted Newcastle
It is said that the deal will be difficult to complete for the Spurs boss as the Italian club have said that they will not be looking to sell the winger as the Serie A club want Suso to feature in the squad next season.
Suso was a key member of the Milan squad last season and made a total of 37 appearances for the club, where he netted seven goals and provided a further 11 assists.
The 23-year-old has developed significantly since leaving Liverpool in 2015, and the electric winger now looks heavily desired to return to the Premier League.
Football Insider verdict:
Suso could be just what Pochettino is searching for during the transfer window. Last season, the 23-year-old would’ve been a fantastic edition to the north London club, but Spurs ended up panic-signing Moussa Sissoko. This summer Pochettino should focus on moving Sissoko on and recruit the AC Milan star instead. At 23, the winger could still provide a long-term solution to the club as he has previously shown that he is capable of playing in the top flight. Suso would add more creativity to the Spurs squad and would bolster Pochettino’s side ahead of their 2017/18 campaign in order to snatch the title from Chelsea.
In other Tottenham transfer news, they have abandoned their pursuit of an international midfielder.
