'Tottenham have come calling' as source reveals Ange Postecoglou done deal - expert
Alan Hutton has suggested Tottenham fans are “desperate” for an exciting new manager.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and Rangers defender said the job at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a “huge opportunity” for Ange Postecoglou.
On Monday (5 June), sources told this site that the Celtic boss has accepted an offer from Spurs to be their next manager with a deal expected to be finalised this week.
The Australian looks set to become the permanent successor to Antonio Conte and depart Parkhead after two years.
Hutton insisted it is now or never for the Hoops manager to get a big move to England.
“You want to strike when the iron is hot,” he told Football Insider.

“It is a compliment to show you how well he has done with the team in a short space of time that a team like Tottenham have come calling.
“When it was teams like Leeds I could never foresee that because there was always an opportunity for them to get relegated.
“I think it is a huge job but it is a huge opportunity for him. I think Ange has shown in the past how well he can recruit, it will obviously be more difficult because it is one of the top teams.
“They have not won a trophy since 2008, so with that comes pressure. You have to get over that line and the fans look very impatient, they are desperate for something to ignite them as a team.
“The only downside is that Ange is maybe not the name that they want but if he goes in and hits the ground running like he did at Celtic then I do not think there would be any problem.”
