Tottenham icon baffled at ‘very strange’ decision Chelsea made in the summer
Chelsea have been slammed for one decision they made over a star during the summer transfer window.
Enzo Maresca strengthened his attack during the summer as Chelsea signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap up-front.
Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Liverpool thanks to a stoppage time Estevao goal means the Blues are seventh in the Premier League table during the international break.
Maresca went through a defining period at Chelsea across the past three fixtures, and the Blues travel to Nottingham Forest on their return to action.

Teddy Sheringham shocked as Nicolas Jackson departure
Despite adding to his attacking options during the summer, Chelsea have not been free flowing going forward.
Pedro made an excellent start to his Chelsea career, but the 24-year-old has not scored in his past six appearances.
Former Spurs striker Teddy Sheringham, as per the Metro [12 October], believes Maresca was wrong to allow Nicolas Jackson to leave and join Bayern Munich.
“I thought Chelsea made a very strange decision in letting Nicolas Jackson go out on loan to Bayern Munich,” Sheringham said.
“A top club needs the focal point of the team, the centre forward, to be someone who can lead the line and understand what the job required of him is.
“Jackson had been at the club for two years; he’s got experience and his goalscoring record had been improving.
“I was very surprised to see him leave and to see him discarded in the manner that he was by Enzo Maresca.
“He was a player who knew Maresca’s system well and could’ve helped Joao Pedro to gel into the team. Now they have Pedro and Delap, both of whom are still learning a new system and one injured.
“The timing of Delap’s injury was unfortunate, but I think it showed that Chelsea immediately regretted their decision to let Jackson go because they tried to call him back and he said no, which I thought was fair enough.”
Jackson has scored one goal and two assists, all against Pafos in the Champions League in his Bayern Munich career so far.
Chelsea may be forced in Jackson renegotiation
Chelsea may need to renegotiate a fee with Bayern Munich for Jackson, if the striker is to leave on a permanent deal next summer.
The Blues may need to sell players to comply with financial rules, and despite Bayern Munich’s interest in Jackson, the German club do not want to pay a high fee for the Senegal international.

Jackson is playing second choice behind Harry Kane, and the England striker extraordinary start to the season means the 32-year-old will not be displaced in the starting XI.
Despite currently being happy at Bayern Munich, Jackson may need to be guaranteed greater playing time to be convinced of staying put in the long-term.
