Tottenham insider digs at journalists causing 'hysteria' after Son YouTube update pre-Leeds

Heung-Min Son will be fine to feature for Tottenham against Leeds on Sunday despite reports over his fitness.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

As per Goal’s Steve Han, Son, 29, did not take part in South Korea training on Saturday after suffering a “minor knock”.

However, in a video of Sunday’s training session posted to the South Korean FA’s YouTube channel, Son can be seen training with his teammates.

Wenham insists this pattern of events occurs every time Son goes away and blamed South Korean media for the so-called “hysteria”.

“I’ve noticed this weird thing with Son when he goes on international duty,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Every time he goes away, the same thing happens. He picks up a knock.

“Then there is mass media reporting about it and speculating how bad the injury is.

“Then he’s fine. It’s a really common thing and I don’t know why it keeps happening.

“Maybe it’s the South Korean journalists but we keep hearing this almost hysteria.

“The funny thing is he is always absolutely fine and ready to play for us when he comes back.

“I expect that will be the same once again this time.”

Tottenham sit ninth ahead of their clash with relegation-threatened Leeds.

Spurs cruised to a 3-0 win in the same fixture last season.
