Wenham swipes at 'insane' Dele Alli and reveals Tottenham fans are turning against him at stadium
Dele Alli isn’t doing enough to stay in the Tottenham side and fans were glad when he was dropped against Aston Villa.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels, as he assessed why supporters are starting to turn against the former hero.
As revealed by Football Insider on 28 September, Tottenham are more likely to sell Alli next summer rather than in the January transfer window.
The midfielder is said to be “difficult to manage” as well as being labelled an “inconsistent trainer” by club sources.
Alli started and scored a penalty against NS Mura through the week but was dropped from the starting XI to face Villa on Sunday.
Wenham claims Spurs fans were happy to hear Alli was out of the side after failing to impress in Mura.

“Alli is basically fighting for his spot,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It’s Alli, Le Celso and Ndombele who are fighting for that third midfield position.
“The other two are clearly Skipp and Hojbjerg after their starts to the season.
“Alli isn’t doing enough, that’s why Nuno is constantly chopping and changing.
“Alli has two goals this year but when you see him playing you want to see more.
“Everyone loves him, there is that history there. He’s scored against Arsenal and Chelsea, the season he scored 18 goals was insane.
“He still has that ability, he just doesn’t show it.
“He has money in the bank with Spurs fans and that might be saving him.
“The feeling around the ground yesterday, when people saw the teams, they were glad he wasn’t there.”
Alli has made 10 appearances this season.
He has scored two goals in all competitions, both from the penalty spot.
