Tottenham insider: Nuno will axe Alli for good after 'unacceptable' display
Dele Alli offers nothing to the current Tottenham side and left his teammates exposed against Arsenal.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Alli, 25, started in central midfield as Tottenham lost 3-1 to Arsenal after a devastating first-half performance from the hosts.
The midfielder was hauled off at half-time and replaced by Oliver Skipp, who added a more energetic and committed option as Nuno Espirito Santo changed his system.
Wenham claims Nuno will learn from this and will begin to start Skipp ahead of Alli in the coming weeks.
“I think Nuno went for players who have played in that game before,” Wenham told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“Alli actually scored at The Emirates when we won in the Cup there in 2019.
“He just didn’t look up for it. He wasn’t there, he was particularly poor.
“Alli offered nothing and left Hojbjerg exposed time and time again. He doesn’t look right in the formation we are playing.
“It’s fitting a square peg in a round hole. He’s basically a runner there, he runs more than anyone else when he’s out there, but that’s it.
“We needed someone who could actually make an impact which is why he came off at half-time.
“Hojberg was left on his own, that’s why he came off at half-time. Unacceptable.
“I think Nuno will leave him out from now on and put Skipp in from the start. That could be the one positive from yesterday.”
