The Bundesliga have nominated Tottenham and Schalke midfielder Nabil Bentaleb among three others for the league player of the week award.
The 22-year-old has been in impressive form since moving to the German top flight this season and he continued that form on Saturday as he provided an assist in a 2-0 victory over Hertha Berlin.
His performance at the weekend didn’t go unnoticed either and the Algeria international was selected for the weekly Bundesliga ‘most valuable player’ award on their official Twitter account.

Bentaleb will compete against Hamburger’s Kyriakos Papadopoulos, Bayer Leverkusen’s Javier Hernandez and Terrence Boyd from SV Darmstadt for the award.
The winner is decided on by fans and at this moment 13 February (10.33am) Hernandez leads the poll with 57% after 2,700 votes following his two goals at the weekend.
Bentaleb currently sits in third at 16%, but he will be delighted with how his time in Germany has gone after struggling to get into the Tottenham team in the last campaign.
The central midfielder has played in 25 matches for Markus Weinzierl’s side in all competitions this season, bringing a return of five goals and five assists.
He is however still contracted with Spurs until 2020 and fans will be hoping he can finally fulfil his potential and bring his good form back to north London.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs are competing with Arsenal for this 18-year-old.
