Tottenham have no intention of selling defender Kieran Trippier this summer amid interest from Serie A club Napoli, according to a report.
The Evening Standard claims that Italian giants Napoli are keen on signing the 27-year-old in this transfer window.
However, it is understood that Spurs view the right-back’s future with them and are expected to increase his £50,000-a-week wages.
Football Insider verdict:
Trippier is one of the players to most benefit from the tutelage of manager Mauricio Pochettino and has taken his game to another level in the past couple of years. The attack-minded defender managed to fill the void left by Kyle Walker this season at Spurs and managed a staggering nine assists in just 35 appearances across all competitions. He is the definition of a modern day full-back with his desire to run tirelessly up and down the flank, which is why he could start for England this summer at the World Cup. Trippier is also one of the best crossers of a ball in the Premier League and often puts the ball on a plate for Spurs attackers. The North London club are right to ignore interest from Napoli and should be pleased with Trippier continuing to fight Serge Aurier for the right-back slot in the starting X next season.
