Tottenham make Timo Werner transfer decision – sources
Tottenham are now likely to sign forward Timo Werner on a permanent basis this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Spurs captured the 28-year-old on loan from RB Leipzig in the January window and it has been widely reported that they have the opportunity to make the deal permanent for around £15million.
Werner missed the final five games of the 2023-24 campaign with a thigh injury.
Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Tottenham are facing a deadline to activate the option this summer.
He said: “I’m comfortable with that situation and I’ll let the other guys steer it to see what kind of outcome there is.”
It is believed that Tottenham have plans in place to sign Werner on another loan as well as a younger attacking option permanently, and have drawn up a list of several potential targets.

He scored two goals and contributed three assists for Postecoglou’s side.
The Germany international, who was not called up for the European Championships, is under contract at Leipzig until June 2026.

Tottenham finished fifth in the 2023-24 season and will play Europa League football next term.
Spurs’ other forwards include Heung-min Son, Richarlison, Brennan Johnson and Manor Solomon.
