Tottenham manager Poch responds to speculation about £8.5m offer from Euro giants

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has stated that it is “another rumour” when responding to speculation that Inter Millan are targeting him as their next boss.
Sky Sports Italy reporter Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed on his website that the Italian giants are showing a strong interest in Pochettino, following the dismissal of Stefano Pioli earlier this week.
The report claims that the European club are willing to offer the 45-year-old a deal worth roughly £8.5million to become their new manager, which would see the Tottenham chief almost double his current wage.
Ahead of the weekend match against Manchester United, a freelance football reporter and Spurs fan posted Pochettino’s simple response to the speculation.
“In the last few months there have been many, many rumours and that is another one,” Pochettino stated.
Pochettino was named Spurs manager during the summer of 2014 when he made a switch from Premier League rivals Southampton.
Since then, he has guided the club to the Champions League and Premier League title chasers as they are likely to finish as runners-up this season.
Current league leaders Chelsea need one more win from their remaining three matches against either West Brom, Watford or Sunderland to clinch the title.
Added to that, Spurs need one more point to better their third place finish from the previous campaign.
Pochettino’s ability to bring through British talent and academy players has been one of the standout features of his tenure at White Hart Lane.
Attacking duo, Harry Kane and Dele Alli are examples of that, with the duo scoring 38 Premier League goals between them this term.
Striker Kane came through the ranks at Tottenham and he won the golden boot award during the previous campaign and has struck 21 goals this term.
By contrast, highly-rated youngster, Alli joined Spurs from League One outfit MK Dons in 2015 as he has scored 17 league goals.
This has resulted in him winning back-to-back PFA Young Player of the Year awards.
