Tottenham may have next Mario Balotelli on their hands after YouTube reveal – Robinson

Paul Robinson fears Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is in danger of becoming the next Mario Balotelli.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said the 25-year-old’s “attitude and application are miles off.”

Ndombele has been frozen out of the Tottenham squad by manager Antonio Conte.

The centre-midfielder spent the second half of the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Lyon.

Speaking on the Tubes and Ange Golf Life YouTube channel (31 July), West Ham star Declan Rice revealed Ndombele was “one of the toughest” players he has played against.

When asked by Football Insider if Ndombele was in danger of becoming the next Mario Balotelli, Robinson said: “Yes, in a similar way.

“Declan Rice must have played against Ndombele on one of the three good games that he had.

“He is a top-quality player, there is no doubt about that. But his attitude and application are miles off.

“I don’t know the ins and outs but it cannot be a coincidence that every Tottenham manager has ousted him. He has been given many opportunities and has not taken any of them.

“There is a fundamental problem with his attitude and application. That is why he is where he is.

“He needs to find a manager that will take time with him, who will get the best out of him.

“He is an undoubted talent though. That is why Spurs broke their transfer record to sign him.”
