Tottenham must join Serhou Guirassy transfer race, he could be the next Harry Kane

Tottenham would absolutely be foolish not to throw their ring in the hat to secure the signature of Serhou Guirassy ahead of the summer window.

Managers have been struggling to fill the boots left by Harry Kane‘s departure to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023, with Dominic Solanke doing very little to impress supporters.

To be fair to the former Bournemouth man, he has sparked to life in recent weeks since returning from injury, but the likes of Richarlison and Randal Kolo Muani leave fans desperate for reinforcements.

With Joe Lewis and Co. now in charge at Tottenham, many will be expecting a lot of money to be dropped during the summer window, and Guirassy should be one of the names on their list of targets.

Serhou Guirassy has proven himself capable of matching Harry Kane

While the Lilywhites have not yet been linked with the Guinea international, who has 53 goals in 82 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, since joining from VfB Stuttgart.

In fact, according to Squawka, the 29-year-old has the highest conversion rate of any player in the Champions League to take 50 shots since he made his debut in October 2020.

That includes Kane, who has been lighting up the Champions League and Bundesliga with Bayern, notching 126 goals in 131 games since switching life in England for Germany.

It is not very often that the Tottenham legend is outperformed by another centre-forward, and that is exactly why the Premier League strugglers need to be in for his signature in a few months.

He has also been regularly compared to the England campaign during their time together in the Bundesliga.

Tottenham must get out of tricky Premier League situation first

Of course, transfers will not be the club’s main focus now, with the Lilywhites floating just above the Premier League relegation zone with 12 games remaining.

Nonetheless, a club of their stature should be pushing for some of the best players across Europe, and given his success in the Champions League, Guiarassy is one of them.

In addition to the threat of relegation, Igor Tudor is unlikely to be in charge for the 2026-27 campaign, unless he can really make a good impression in the final matches of this season.

Plans cannot begin to take shape until a permanent figure is appointed in the dugout. But given the interest in Guirassy, the club cannot afford to wait around.
