Tottenham must sell 'stupid' Ndombele 'at any cost' as talks reported - pundit

Tanguy Ndombele’s Tottenham career has been a “farce” and it could be over soon.

That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about where the midfielder’s future lies.

As reported by Sky Sports on Tuesday (11 January), Tottenham have held talks with Spanish and Italian clubs over a potential move for Ndombele, 25.

This came after the midfielder was handed a rare start against Morecambe in the FA Cup on Sunday (9 January).

He was subbed off in the second half and was booed by fans as he took his time getting off the pitch with his side 1-0 down.

McAvennie couldn’t believe what he saw from Ndombele.

“What a stupid thing to do.That’s just not on, is it?” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You are losing a game of football and you take ages getting off, that will annoy the fans.

“I’m not surprised they booed. How many times have we spoken about this guy?

“He barely plays and he cost so much money. His whole time at Tottenham has been a farce.

“He keeps asking to leave and I think now is the time Tottenham have to bite the bullet and get rid of him at any cost.”

Ndombele has made 16 appearances for Spurs in all competitions this season.

After his actions v Morecambe he was dropped from the matchday squad for Wednesday’s (12 January) game against Chelsea.

In other news, a pundit claims Daniel Levy is a ‘liar’ and insists Conte is the latest Tottenham manager to be ’embarrassed’ by the Spurs chief.
