Tottenham plan to accept offer for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – Sources

Tottenham plan to accept an offer for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that there is a willingness from both Hojbjerg, 28, and the club to part ways this summer and Spurs are expected to accept an appropriate bid for the midfielder.

The Denmark international came close to leaving the club last summer before a sudden influx of injuries and other deals falling through prevented his departure.

Hojbjerg spoke out this week about being unhappy with his lack of game time at Ange Postecoglou’s side while claiming he is giving his all during training.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg set to leave Tottenham this summer

There was major interest in Hojbjerg from Serie A clubs, including Juventus, in the January transfer window, but sources told Football Insider at the time (8 January) that a move to the Turin club collapsed due to Spurs’ loan fee demands.

His contract is set to expire in the summer of 2025 and Tottenham are keen to get him off their books in order to receive a transfer fee.

Postecoglou has mainly opted for a midfield of Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr, meaning the former Southampton ace has earned just six league starts this season.

He has still been utilised regularly this season having made 30 appearances in all competitions, but the majority of these outings have come from the bench.

Spurs are planning ahead for next season, with Football Insider revealing (29 March) that they have prioritised signing Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White and a new striker this summer.
