Tottenham player ratings v Stoke: 23-year-old is 10/10

By Amir Mir

Football Insider rates the Tottenham players out of ten after they beat Stoke 4-0 in their Premier League clash at White Hart Lane.

Hugo Lloris 8 – Forget the PL, the Frenchman is arguably the best goalkeeper in the world. Unbelievably calm when on the ball and he produced a magnificent save from Peter Crouch at close range with the score at 1-0. Crucial.

Eric Dier 8 – Didn’t have much to do because of the weak attacking threat. But, Dier ensured he didn’t make any mistakes today.

Toby Alderweireld 8 – Faultless display from the senior man who did more going forward than he did having to go back. His passing ability is highly underrated.

Jan Vertonghen 8 – Made sure the away team posed such little attacking threat. Easy day at the office.

Kyle Walker 8 – Typical Walker-like performance. He bombed forward when he could and had one spectacular shot on goal. Equally, he did his defensive work.

Victor Wanyama 9 – Another top quality player Spurs have amongst their ranks. For a big man, he certainly does go past players with ease. Along with his teammates, they bossed the middle of the park.

Mousa Dembele 9 – Just like his midfield partners, Stoke could not get the ball off him as his brute strength was too much for them.

Ben Davies 7 – Much better display from the left wing-back who looked more comfortable on the ball. Though, he is no Danny Rose and cannot provide that attacking threat.

Christian Eriksen 9 – The playmaker ran the show in the final third and passed the ball around the Stoke defence at will.

Dele Alli 9 – The fact that he was fouled a countless number of times within one half that just goes to show the threat he was possessing. He made the away team look clueless as he glided passed them with ease. Deserved his goal.

Harry Kane 10 – Quite simply an outstanding display from the 23-year-old. From his hold up play, first touch, ability to find teammates, finishing and running at defenders – he did the lot and was duly rewarded with a hat-trick.
