Tottenham are preparing to talk to Feyenoord youngster Ozancan Kokcu ahead of a potential summer move, according to a report.
The Times claim that the highly-rated 18-year-old is set to leave the Dutch club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
The report details that Kokcu’s agent, Muzzi Ozcan, has spoken to several clubs about a summer move with Spurs and Premier League rivals Everton both planning further talks about a summer swoop after the January window closes.
It is understood that Feyenoord tried to agree a new deal for the attacker, but are now resigned to losing him after failed negotiations.
Kokcu is a versatile attacker who can be used on either the wings, or in the number 10 position behind the striker.
He has been playing with Feyenoord’s Under-19s team this season, scoring two goals in 14 appearances.
The youngster has represented Holland at Under-17 level, but has been invited to link up with Azerbaijan’s senior team as he is eligible.
Football Insider verdict:
Spurs are showing a great desire to bring through youngsters at White Hart Lane and it’s certainly the direction manager Mauricio Pochettino is heading. Kokcu could be the latest player to fit that mould and the north London club will be able to get him on a free transfer in the summer window. He is a highly-rated figure in Holland and Feyenoord tried to keep hold of him by offering a new contract. He is yet to experience English football, but Spurs seems as good a place as any for him to develop. Their academy is showing a great desire to bring players into the first-team, with the likes of Harry Winks and Cameron Carter-Vickers making the step up this season.
