Tottenham ready £9m bid for international enforcer - report
By Guy Giles
Tottenham are readying a £9million January bid for Besiktas defender Dusko Tosic, according to a report.
beIN Sports Turkey claim that Spurs have sent representatives to discuss a potential move for the 32-year-old Serbia international, but no offer has been made yet.
It is also reported that Besiktas manager Senol Gunes is willing to enter into negotiations with Tottenham over the transfer.
The 21-times Serbia international has made 15 appearances for his club this year, and has appeared in all four of their Champions League fixtures.
Tosic has formed a solid partnership with ex-Real Madrid defender Pepe, with Besiktas having conceded just 12 goals in 11 league games, and just three in their four Champions League group games.

Football Insider verdict:
While there is no doubt that Tosic is having a solid season in Turkey, this would seem a strange move for Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine is known for his tendency to move for young players with potential, and Tosic is turning 33 in January. While the acquisition of Fernando Llorente represents an exception to this, it is doubtful that it signals the start of a trend for Spurs. The other factor in play here is Spurs’ plentiful defensive options. The club already have Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth as centre-backs, with Eric Dier and Ben Davies also able to provide cover there. Only a defensive injury crisis would prompt Pochettino to enter the market for another centre-back, especially one who does not offer much long-term return on the investment.
