Finance guru: Tottenham ‘reaping the rewards’ as ‘valuable’ new deal agreed
Tottenham are reaping the rewards for their participation in the Champions League in 2022-23 thanks to Uefa’s latest commercial arrangement.
That is the view of finance expert Doctor Dan Plumley, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about European football’s governing body and its new deal with Football Manager.
Uefa announced on Monday (12 September) that their branding will feature in the 2023 iteration of the computer game series which is due to be released in November.

The game now has the rights to incorporate fully licensed recreations of the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League and Super Cup.
Spurs sealed their place in the Champions League group stages on the final day of 2021-22.
Plumley explained that, in addition to prize money, the Londoners are now generating passive income every time Uefa strikes a new sponsor deal.
“For any central Uefa pot, If the money goes in, every club is going to win,” the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“It’s a happy by-product because you don’t have to do anything to get access to that money. Once you qualify for the Champions League or the Europa League, you reap the rewards.
“That is the value of this one. It’s not just about prize money but also about money in the central commercial pot. Sporting success generates more financial success.”
Tottenham beat Marseille 2-0 in their opening Champions League game before losing by the same scoreline against Sporting.
Their next European clash comes against Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt on 4 October.
