Tottenham are readying their most important deal in years with reported £100k-a-week-plus offer

Tottenham are reportedly readying their most important deal in years if news of a new contract for Mauricio Pochettino is true.
The Telegraph have claimed on their website that Spurs are keen on tying their manager down to a new long term deal and that they are willing to increase his current £105,000-a-week (£5.5million-per-year) wage in order to convince him to stay.
While there are a whole host of contractual situations drifting through the corridors at Wembley this season, including the critical scenario of Toby Alderweireld, there will be no more important deal than the Argentine’s this summer.
He has established himself as a top class coach and his record does not let him down, with 111 wins in his 202 games at the helm of the club.
As shown so often in football, none more so than with Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and Arsene Wenger at Spurs’ north London rivals Arsenal, great players come and go but a quality manager, when the right man for the club, is a real rarity.
Pochettino is without a doubt the right man for Spurs; he buys into and carries out their ethos and in return the club supports him to the hilt, while the players believe he is the man to lead them to success.
While Daniel Levy will not break the bank to tie down a single player, rightly believing there is no one bigger than the club itself, you can be sure he would do pretty much anything to meet Pochettino’s demands if it came to it.
However the former Southampton manager will not hold the club to ransom; he knows his worth but also has a real affinity for the club, and would not want to harm their chances by improving his own financial situation.
It is no wonder the likes of Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain are said to be interested in his signature, which makes tying him up all the more important to Levy and the Lilywhites.
Quite simply, he is the future of Tottenham, and with him at the helm they have every chance of securing success.
