‘Tottenham set for £200m+ signings’ – fans stunned by Daniel Levy reveal

Tottenham could be set for a £200million signing spree as fans have been left stunned following Daniel Levy’s latest reveal.

Spurs are set to compete in the Champions League next season after beating Manchester United in the Europa League final last month.

However, the north London giants are desperate to start competing higher up the Premier League table again after finishing 17th in the 2024-25 season.

Ange Postecoglou has been sacked following his side’s league performances despite leading Tottenham to their first trophy in 17 years.

Spurs have now appointed Thomas Frank as their new coach on a three-year deal following his work at Brentford.

The 51-year-old took charge of the Bees in 2018 before going on to achieve promotion to the Premier League in 2021 and cement their place in the top flight.

Tottenham have paid around £15million in compensation to Postecoglou and Brentford following Frank’s appointment.

Liverpool blow Tottenham away in new reveal

In an interview on Tottenham’s media channel on 17 June, Levy admitted it was an “emotionally” difficult decision to part ways with Postecoglou after he led the club to their first European trophy since 1984.

“You saw the outpouring of emotion with the parade,” said Levy. “It was just incredible. We’ve won a European trophy.

“But it’s not enough. It’s what we haven’t done that is more important. We need to win the league.

“We want to win the Premier League. We want to win the Champions League. We want to win.”

Tottenham fans have been left stunned by that admission, with many questioning whether that truly is Levy’s ambition.

The Spurs chairman and majority owner ENIC have faced criticism from fans for their lack of spending in recent times.

Dominic Solanke was the most expensive of eight signings across the 2024-25 campaign after he joined in a £65million deal from Bournemouth.

Tottenham reduced their wage bill substantially from £251million in 2022-23 to £222million in 2023-24, with that figure making up 42 per cent of their overall revenue.

That suggests Spurs haven’t been looking to win the Premier League in recent years because it’s clear clubs now need to operate with a much higher wage bill to compete for the title.

Liverpool’s wage bill is expected to have surpassed £400million as Arne Slot’s side were crowned champions in the 2024-25 season.

Tottenham have unique opportunity to back Thomas Frank

There are no longer any excuses for Tottenham not to spend big in the summer transfer window.

Spurs have a unique opportunity to use their Champions League qualification to their advantage and bring in several quality additions.

Frank has to be backed with a budget in excess of £200million this summer as he looks to get the club moving forward again.

Levy and the board have made a bold move to remove Postecoglou and bring in Frank, but they have to change their mentality if this is to really be the start of a new era in north London.
