‘Tottenham staff upset with Daniel Levy and board’ after Postecoglou sack news
Tottenham staff are frustrated with the club as pressure continues to grow on manager Ange Postecoglou, reports The Telegraph.
The Australian has been facing major questions about his job as Spurs manager, while Football Insider understands he is set to remain in place.
The former Celtic boss has had a miserable second season in charge at Tottenham, but it is understood that there are frustrations from some staff at the club with the powers that be.
They feel that not enough outfield players have been brought in during the January transfer window to help Postecoglou with his injury crisis, even as he has remained relatively calm on the matter himself.
He was unable to name a full substitutes bench against Leicester in their 2-1 defeat, and admitted that midfielder Pape Matar Sarr should not have played, and goal-scorer Richarlison had a groin issue that should have seen him replaced at half-time.
Spurs now run the risk of further exacerbating injuries to their players, due to not having suitable squad depth.
Tottenham chairman Levy must issue definitive statement on manager’s future
Football Insider Verdict
Any conversation surrounding Spurs right now inevitably becomes about Postecoglou’s future at the club.
Chairman Daniel Levy must make a solid commitment to his manager, and back him with signings in the January window.
Tottenham have suffered injuries to the majority of their playing staff this season, and Antonin Kinsky being the only signing this month screams of indecision by Levy.
There have been links to Man United’s Alejandro Garnacho, and PSG’s Milan Skriniar, but the latter has now joined Fenerbahce and the Garnacho links have disappeared.
The likelihood is, that Levy is assessing his options at the moment, and is unwilling to sign any of the Australian’s preferred targets until he has made a decision on Postecoglou’s future.

However, Levy may have a problem, due to the lack of suitable replacements he could hire in January.
Andoni Iraola, the current Bournemouth manager, is the favourite for the job, but his situation on the South Coast seems preferable to the chaos taking place in North London.
Marco Silva has also been linked to the job, but the Portuguese manager is similarly unlikely to join as Iraola for the same reasons.
Levy will know that any mid-season replacement for Postecoglou is unlikely to be an upgrade on his current manager.
