Ange Postecoglou remains on hot seat at Tottenham after Bournemouth draw

Football Insider Verdict

A Europa League win may not be enough to stop Tottenham from choosing to sack Ange Postecoglou.

The Australian manager has cut a defeated character at times in his second season, with his side out of both domestic cups, and sitting 13th in the Premier League table.

Many are sympathetic to the fact that Spurs have been decimated by fitness issues this season, with the club at times having a full starting XI of injured players.

However, there will remain a concern that the poor results this season, may have a carry-over effect into next season.

The mood around a team who expect to perform better than they have can be hard to remedy. Sometimes owners will choose to replace a manager, not because they are tactically incapable, but instead because the playing squad needs a lift, and a new face in charge.
