Tottenham star who Ange Postecoglou loves is ‘back in individual training’ after injury
Tottenham enjoyed a crucial 1-0 win over Villarreal to get their Champions League campaign up and running without a hitch.
James Maddison is on a long road to recovery, but in his absence, the Tottenham squad have made a fine start to the new campaign.
Tottenham bought really well in the summer, but Thomas Frank needs to play Xavi Simons as a number 10 to get the best out of all his attackers.
Especially with the news that Dominic Solanke could be back in action soon.

Dominic Solanke is back in individual training
Sky Sports has some very good news for Tottenham fans with Solanke back in training, albeit he is still only doing individual work.
The 28-year-old has been absent with an ankle injury, and while there was uncertainty over how long the issue would rule him out for, Spurs can now expect him back a lot sooner.
It is reported that Solanke is unlikely to be involved in Tottenham’s next Premier League game against Brighton, but he could potentially face Doncaster in the Carabao Cup next Wednesday (25 September).
Last season, Solanke scored 16 goals and assisted eight in all competitions and will be welcomed back with open arms by his teammates.
Ange Postecoglou loved Solanke
Ange Postecoglou brought Solanke to the club in a £65m deal in 2024 and relied hugely on the Englishman’s goals, and so too will Thomas Frank when he’s back fit.
After signing Solanke, the Australian waxed lyrical about Solanke, celebrating the addition of a high-pedigree striker.
“I don’t know who else was in for him. I’m just glad we got him. In terms of outlay, if you’re trying to sign a striker with proven pedigree these days, it’s pretty hard not to spend,” Postecoglou said via The Independent.
“Nothing is a sure thing, but I really thought he was a real safe bet for us. We knew what we were getting.
“We were getting a proven Premier League striker who was going to fit into our style of play, which is the most important thing, but even in terms of what I was hoping for, he’s exceeded that in my mind.
“Dom has just been outstanding in the way he’s carried the frontline for us during this period. With the way we play, we put a lot of demands on that position. It’s not just him standing up there scoring goals, it’s working hard for the team.”
The former Liverpool striker will be looking to build on his debut campaign at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where he netted nine times in the Premier League last term.
