Tottenham tipped to lay on behind-closed-doors match for Ndombele after embarrassing fitness claim - pundit
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Tanguy Ndombele is clearly not match fit at Tottenham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Ndombele needs to use the international break to get up to speed with the Premier League again.
The midfielder started his third consecutive Premier League game in the 2-1 win over Villa in north London at the weekend.
However, he was replaced with just less than a quarter of an hour to go and he has only completed 90 minutes once in all competitions this term.
According to FBRef, Ndombele has won just four of his six tackles attempted in five appearances across all competitions this season.
“He looked good [against Aston Villa], Ndombele, but he didn’t look fit,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“When the camera went on him he looked out of breath.
“He didn’t look match fit. Maybe that’s why he’s always the one that’s brought off, the manager recognises it.
“They need to work on that over the international break because you need to be able to last 90 minutes, not 60 minutes.
“The international break is well-timed. They’re not always for days off.
“If you’ve played a lot of football you can get three or four days off.
“The ones that haven’t been playing, they use the international break to play some behind closed doors games, get some extra fitness and get back up to speed.”
Football Insider exclusively revealed on August 19 that Ndombele wanted to quit Tottenham before the summer transfer window closed.
A move did not materialise and he still has four years left to run on his Spurs contract.
