Tottenham tipped to sign Bergwin replacement after improved offer submitted – pundit
Tottenham will replace Steven Bergwijn if he joins Ajax this month.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about a possible exit at the club.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider today that Ajax are planning to submit a new bid for Bergwijn, 24, after having a formal £15million (€18million) offer for him rejected by Tottenham.

Clubs from Spain and Germany’s top flight are also interested in signing the Holland international.
Bergwijn cost Spurs a reported £25million (€30million) back in January 2020.
With Heung-Min Son injured, Kenny claims Bergwijn’s departure will herald a new arrival.
“He’s not scored a lot of goals has he?” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I think people expected a lot from Bergwijn when he joined. He scored a cracking goal on his debut against City.
“He’s never quite got back to that level of performance and he’s slipped down the pecking order.
“I do wonder if Tottenham have someone quality lined up to replace him. Son is injured now as well.
“So to let Berwijn go, that tells me someone is coming in but obviously we need to wait and see if the bid is accepted.
“It just hasn’t worked for Berwijn unfortunately, and that can happen.”

Bergwijn has struggled to nail down a place in the Spurs XI this season, with just three Premier League starts under his belt.
The Dutch winger has only featured four times under Antonio Conte, with a calf injury forcing him to the sidelines.
