Tottenham told to accept Ben Davies offer as three new signings identified – Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Tottenham should part ways with Ben Davies as part of a “real shuffle” of their struggling defence this summer.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted Spurs need to add two centre-backs and a left-back after parting with the 30-year-old.
Sources told this site last week (26 May) that Tottenham will listen to offers for Davies this summer regardless of the identity of their next manager.
It is believed a bid of £15million could be enough to do a deal for the Wales international.
Tottenham, who are without a permanent manager, finished eighth in the Premier League in the 2022-23 campaign and will be without European football next term.
Football Insider revealed last week (25 May) that Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers are on the manager shortlist for Spurs after talks with Arne Slot collapsed.
Davies, who can play as a centre-back and a full-back, has made 40 appearances across all competitions this term.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I watched him recently and he was so poor on the ball.
“He’s been at the club a long time and he’s still struggling to put in top performances.
“They need a real shuffle of that defence.
“For me, they need two centre-backs and a left-back – because Davies just isn’t good enough any more.

“He’s been fantastic for them, but that doesn’t mean he can keep playing when his form isn’t good enough.
“I would get rid, say thank you for your service, and upgrade in that position.”
