Tottenham told to ‘get rid of’ Ndombele as source reveals all – pundit

Kevin Campbell claims Tanguy Ndombele will remain a Tottenham player until the club are prepared to take a loss on him.

The Arsenal icon, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest on the midfielder’s situation.

Football Insider first revealed on 19 August the France midfielder had told Tottenham chiefs he wanted to quit the club by the end of the transfer window.

A Spurs source has now told Football Insider a deadline-day exit was on the cards after the player again made clear his ‘desperate’ desire to leave but a deal could not be agreed.

Ndombele moved to Spurs for a club-record £55.4million fee in the summer of 2019 but has failed to be a consistent performer.

Campbell insists Ndombele won’t be sold as long as Tottenham are looking to make their money back.

“It could prove troublesome,” Campbell told Football Insider assistant editor Dylan Childs.

“The problem with things like that is, if you are the club and you need the player out, you need to do the business.

“They haven’t treated him right as far as I’m concerned, it’s been a terrible mess.

“With Mourinho he was going through difficult times and the new regime don’t like him.

“Let him leave. It’s a matter of trying to get what they want for him. They are running the risk of having a really unhappy player in and around the squad.

“I’m sure they know how to handle things but you just think do the right thing and get rid of him.

“He’s a good player and I’m sure teams were looking at him but it might be difficult for Tottenham to make their money back.”
