Tottenham told to sell Sergio Reguilon ‘as soon as the window opens’ after source’s reveal – pundit
Tottenham should sell Sergio Reguilon as soon as the transfer window opens.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On Tuesday (22 March), this site revealed Antonio Conte has given the green light to Tottenham listening to offers for Reguilon, 25, this summer.
On 18 March, Fabrizio Romano reported Barcelona are “keeping tabs” on the defender.
El Espanol also reported on 10 February that Reguilon is on a shortlist of targets for Real Madrid.
Wenham wants to see Reguilon move on even if the club only makes its money back.
“I would move him on, even if we just make our money back,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I just don’t think he’s that good. A lot of people seem to really like him.
“Maybe that’s because he charges around a lot and he has loads of energy.
“For me, he’s just never been that good. I don’t see him as a top-class player.
“We need top-class players if we are to get back to the Champions League.
“If Barcelona or Real Madrid do want him then try and agree the biggest deal you can and get it done as soon as the window opens.
“That gives us the whole summer to get a quality replacement in.”

Wenham slammed Reguilon’s performance against West Ham on Sunday (20 March) calling it his “worst performance for Tottenham”.
The defender was also labelled “so average it’s true” after spurning a host of chances to get himself on the scoresheet.
In other news, a Tottenham expert fears one “weird” Harry Kane contract clause is causing an “utterly baffling” problem.
