Tottenham transfers: ‘Astonished’ update from Sky Sports reporter
Tottenham fans have been told whether their club are likely to make any more signings in the January transfer window by Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas.
Spurs have so far made one new signing this month with goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky joining from Slavia Prague.
Young winger Yang Min-hyeok has also arrived from Gangwon in his native South Korea, completing a move that had been agreed in the summer.
Tottenham though are on a dismal run at the moment, having won just one of their last ten Premier League games.
That has seen them slip to 15th in the table just eight points clear of the relegation zone, heaping ever more pressure on Ange Postecoglou.
The Australian has not been helped by a whole raft of injuries within his squad, highlighting the need for reinforcements through the transfer window.
It now appears that Thomas believes Postecoglou will be given those by chairman Daniel Levy during the transfer window, with one position in particular set to be targeted in what could be a tough deal.
Responding on X to a question from one Tottenham fan about whether the club will make any more signings before the window closes, the reporter said:
“Yes. Be astonished if they don’t given the circumstances. Forward seems to be the priority (and the hardest word!)”.
Tottenham transfer update a relief for supporters
Football Insider Verdict
It is not just injury problems that Spurs have had to deal with this season, with a number of their players who have been fit and available struggling for form as well.
Given the expectations that were being set out for Tottenham at the start of the campaign, they are falling a long way short as things stand.
Signings to improve the options available to Postecoglou are therefore essential if Spurs are going to salvage anything from this season.

If they fail to make those deals happen though, it is hard to see quite how they get out of this disastrous run they are currently on.
As a result, this expectation that deals will be done may at least offer some hope for Tottenham supporters with just under two weeks to go until the window closes.
Given the suggestion that a forward may be a challenging deal to do, it would also be a much-needed strong statement from the club if they get one in, considering the pressure currently on them.
