Paul Robinson claimed Jadon Sancho would be an “unbelievable addition” to Liverpool this summer but does not believe the winger would displace any of the current front three.

The former Spurs and Leeds goalkeeper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, suggested there would be game time for the 20-year-old at Anfield with the Reds expected to compete on all fronts next season.

In an Instagram live, Trent Alexander-Arnold said his England international teammate would improve Jurgen Klopp’s side if he were to make a switch to Merseyside.

Sancho has been the subject of interest from Manchester United and Chelsea after another incredible season in Germany.

The Borussia Dortmund winger has scored 17 goals and provided 19 assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.

When asked by Football Insider if the youngster is good enough to displace any of the Reds’ front three, Robinson said: “He will be a great addition wherever he goes but there is talk of Timo Werner going to Liverpool as well. Both would add to the amazing fire-power that they have already got.

“Look at their front-three, they would do very well to break into that.

“Sancho would not break into the front three immediately but he will certainly be used and would be an unbelievable addition.

“They will want to compete for all competitions next season and to do that they will need strength in depth.”

Timo Werner has also been linked with a move to Anfield but the financial impact of the coronavirus is likely to make big-money moves very difficult this summer.

Combined, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohammed Salah have scored 49 goals and provided 33 assists so far this campaign.
