Van Dijk and Van de Ven react to Dominic Solanke’s Tottenham message

Dominic Solanke had a motivating message for Tottenham supporters after their win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

Tottenham moved one step closer to the Europa League final with a commanding 3-1 victory in the first leg of their semi-final clash.

Brennan Johnson scored within a minute and set the tone early, before James Maddison and Solanke added their names to the scoresheet to put Spurs firmly in control heading into the second leg.

Despite the win, Cristian Romero drew criticism for a reckless late challenge and a heated exchange with the referee that earned him a yellow card.

Still, the mood remained upbeat in the Tottenham camp, with Solanke urging fans and teammates alike to stay focused on the bigger goal ahead in a post-match message.

Dominic Solanke continues impressive goalscoring form

Solanke delivered another standout performance for Tottenham, converting a penalty with a bold finish to notch his third goal in four matches.

He marked the victory on Instagram with a focused message: “Half the battle done” keeping his mindset firmly on the task ahead.

The post drew plenty of attention, with Micky van de Ven replying “Solanks” and Pedro Porro adding an emoji. James Maddison and Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk also showed their support by liking the post.

Solanke struggled earlier in the season, with some fans previously suggesting he should be “sent back” to Bournemouth. But despite a season disrupted by injuries, the striker has still managed 13 goals and eight assists in 40 appearances across all competitions.

With Mathys Tel’s future up in the air and Richarlison likely to depart this summer, Solanke’s importance to Ange Postecoglou’s side is only growing as he continues to build momentum.

Tottenham to hold talks with Bayern Munich over Mathys Tel’s future

As Solanke finds his rhythm, Bayern Munich loanee Tel has seen his involvement reduced in recent weeks.

Football Insider revealed that Tottenham do not intend to activate the £45million buy clause in Tel’s deal, though they remain open to keeping him if a more favourable fee can be agreed.

Tel has shown flashes of promise during his time in North London, and Spurs could still pursue a permanent move if they believe the 20-year-old can offer reliable support to Solanke next season.
