'Option for the Premier League' - Murty gives huge update on Rangers star's future

Rangers manager Graeme Murty insists Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos is happy at Ibrox and claims the Gers can help him get to the point where he is a “viable option” for a Premier League club.
The Gers rejected a bid on Tuesday from a Chinese Super League club with a report in the Daily Record on Wednesday claiming the Light Blues had rejected a further offer of £7.5million for the 21-year-old.
Morelos has been a sensation for the Gers since moving to Ibrox in the summer from HJK Helsinki with 13 goals in 27 appearances so far for the Light Blues.
Murty revealed Morelos hasn’t said he wants to leave Ibrox and thinks the striker can prove himself as an option for Premier League sides and his national team by performing well for the Gers.
“We have to look at what Alfredo is capable of achieving. If he thinks he can play in the Premier League then we have to get to the stage where he becomes a fantastic, viable option for the English top flight and his national team,” Murty said, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“If that happens it means he’s pulling up trees in this country as a happy, healthy, fit and firing striker. In that mindset he becomes a viable option for the Premier League, not just the Chinese League. At that stage he looks at multiple options and instead of mega dough, he’s looking at mega-mega dough.
“Alfredo has adjusted to being in this country. Everything we hear from him and his agent is that he’s happy here.
“All this other stuff comes from outside agents. Alfredo has not come to us and said he wants to go.”
With only Jason Cummings, Eduardo Herrera and Kenny Miller in reserve, selling Morelos at this late stage of the transfer window would leave the Gers short of options in attack unless they can manage to beat the transfer deadline and somehow find a replacement for Morelos.
After only costing £1million when he moved from HJK in the summer, the possibility of making almost £7million profit in a little over six months will be appealing to the Ibrox bean counters.
