Pedro Caixinha has a huge decision to make ahead of August 6’s Scottish Premiership opener against Motherwell, with five strikers vying to be chosen to lead the Gers’ attack.

Despite selling Joe Garner to Championship side Ipswich Town earlier in the summer, Caixinha still has plenty of options in the final third.

The former Santos Laguna and Al Gharafa manager has brought in youngster Alfredo Morelos from HJK Helsinki and Mexico international Eduardo Herrera from top tier outfit UNAM.

Both strikers were used in the Gers’ Europa League qualifying loss against Progres Niedercorn, but neither found the back of the net and that will give Caixinha food for thought.

The Gers will be hoping to improve on their dismal 2016-17 campaign that saw them finish a huge 39 points behind Old Firm rivals Celtic, and a firing hitman up top will be crucial to doing that.
