Virgil van Dijk makes big Celtic claim after draw v Rangers
By Will Butcher
Virgil van Dijk is confident that Celtic can smash Rangers’ record of nine consecutive titles by winning the Scottish Premiership 10 times in a row.
Rangers scored a last-gasp equaliser to earn an unlikely point in Sunday’s Old Firm derby, as Clint Hill’s tap in secured a 1-1 draw following Stuart Armstrong’s opener.
Now with Southampton, Holland international van Dijk claimed on his personal Twitter account that Celtic can beat the Gers’ record by tweeting “10 in a row”.

Winning the last five Scottish Premiership titles, Brendan Rodgers’ side are closing in on their sixth consecutive league win as they sit 25 points clear of second placed Aberdeen.
The Gers are just the second team to take points off of Celtic this season, with Inverness earning a point back in September after drawing 2-2 with the Caley Jags.

Rodgers will be hoping his side can firm their grip on the Scottish Premiership title in his first season in charge with a win against Dundee in a week’s time, at Dens Park.
Defender van Dijk left Celtic Park back in the summer of 2015, after making 115 league and cup appearances for the Hoops in which he won two Scottish Premiership titles as well as a Scottish League Cup.
