'Been awful', 'No way' - Rangers fans urge Murty to bench this player v Ayr

Kenny Miller has returned from a thigh injury, one which the player himself described as being the worst of his career.
After making it to the bench for the Scottish Premier League win over Partick Thistle on Tuesday night. the forward is now aiming to play in the Scottish Cup tie against Ayr United on Sunday.
However, news of the 38-year-old’s possible appearance for the Light Blues has not been greeted with the celebrations that it once would have done and there are some supporters that have been venting their displeasure on social media.
While one fan insisted that, ‘If he (Miller) walks in Murty should walk out,’ another added a revealing statistic to back up the view that Miller isn’t up to scratch this season, tweeting that he has ‘Scored 1 in his last 14 games.’
But there was one voice who did stick up for the Gers forward and pointed to the player’s decorated history with the SPL side as to why supporters should show more respect to the four-goal hitman this season.
The 38-year-old has won a collection of trophies with the Scottish giants, including three league titles, a Scottish Cup, and a League Cup in his two spells at Ibrox prior to this most recent one.
The striker has been out of action since the 13th December, when he tore a hamstring in the side’s 2-1 away win at Hibernian and admitted to Rangers’ official website that he was desperate to play again: “I am ready for selection, it will take a bit to get that match sharpness back up but we still have plenty of games and a lot of football to be played before the end of the season.
“It has been frustrating, I always try to be positive when I’m injured and this was no different.
“It was probably as bad an injury as I’ve had; it was the worst muscular injury I have ever had.”
