‘Waste of a jersey’ – Celtic fans lambast player who’s a ‘disgrace’ after his display vs Hearts

Celtic fans have blasted one star for their performance as the Hoops suffered a title blow with defeat at Hearts.

Hearts beat Celtic 3-1 at Tynecastle to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table to eight points.

Brendan Rodgers was without the injured Kelechi Iheanacho, Alastair Johnston and Cameron Carter-Vickers for the trip to Hearts, and Celtic‘s lack of attacking strength again showed.

Despite Callum McGregor’s first half equaliser, Hearts opened the scoring through a Dane Murray own goal and netted twice more in the second period to earn victory.

Reo Hatate slammed by Celtic support

Many Celtic stars underperformed at Hearts, but midfielder Reo Hatate has suffered a poor campaign overall for the Hoops so far.

Fans were not happy with Rodgers’ decision to not substitute Hatate at half-time with options like Luke McCowan and Paulo Bernardo on the bench.

I think we sold the translator as hatate has been lost for a while, total waste of a jersey,” one fan commented on social media.

Whilst one fan commented: “Hatate doing Hatate things again I see. Been woeful all year.

One fan wanted McCowan to start over Hatate: “Mccowan put in more fight than HATATE has done all season.”

Hatate is driving me mad, dreadful half-arsed attitude. I’d like to see Bernardo given a better run in the team,” a Celtic supporter said.

It’s between Nygren and Hatate of who is worst in midfield. Murray and Donovan are garbage under pressure,” one fan had multiple candidates for who performed worst against Hearts.

Another fan commented: “Hatate is so frustrating because we know he has the ability, but he has been poor all season.

Hatate faces axe against Falkirk

Premier League clubs have previously expressed interest in Hatate, but the Japanese international will be getting no suitors with his current displays.

Hatate constantly gave the ball away, and was poor in possession as Hearts won the midfield battle.

Celtic’s reliance on Callum McGregor remains in the middle of the park, and Hatate could be a casualty from this match for the visit of Falkirk next.
