West Ham “need to improve” their squad this summer after confirming their Premier League status, according to Alex Bruce.
The former Premier League defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, admitted he wouldn’t be surprised if Hammers’ boss David Moyes is busy in the transfer market.
Moyes is hoping to land QPR left-back Ryan Manning this window, according to the Telegraph.
Manning, 24, played 41 times for Mark Warburton’s side last season, operating at full-back for the Championship outfit.
And Bruce believes the London side will be looking at a “mixture” of players ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
“West Ham just need to improve the squad in general,” Bruce told Football Insider.
“They’ve got a number of ageing players and players who have been hit and miss.
“They need to improve the team, improve the squad and it wouldn’t surprise me if we saw David Moyes do a little bit of activity in the summer.
“We’ll just have to watch this space to see who he brings in, but I’m sure there will be a mixture of prospects and some experienced young heads as well.”
Following a 16th-placed Premier League finish, Moyes admitted he’ll be looking to sign “good young players” in the close season.
“We can’t go out and say we’re going to sign all the top players, he told the Evening Standard.
“We have to have a bit of time and sign good young players who are here for the future. So, hopefully, we can get those plans into place and start moving on now.”
In other West Ham news, it can be REVEALED that agent could be pivotal to club signing Championship star.
