'We will see the best of Daniel Levy' - Tottenham fans react to Lineker's Sissoko Tweet

By Amir Mir

Gary Lineker has laughed off a report linking Moussa Sissoko to AC Millan and Real Madrid – and Tottenham fans on Twitter have reacted in the same manner.

Spanish news outlet Don Balon claimed on Wednesday that the European giants were looking to bring in the 27-year-old, while Barcelona had also been offered the Frenchman.

That promoted Match of the Day host, Lineker to laugh at the reported news as he posted his reaction on Twitter with a series of emojis.

One fan jokingly stated that it might be another Sissoko, while another was hoping that the interested clubs don’t have Sky Sports.

His comments come after watching Sissoko in action during his side’s 6-1 win at Leicester City on Thursday night, which was aired live on Sky.

The France international produced a poor display during the match despite his team scoring six goals on the night.

Sissoko moved to White Hart Lane last summer from relegated Newcastle for a big-money fee of £30million.

However, he has struggled during his time in North London, failing to score a single goal since his switch from St James’ Park.

Another supporter believes the reported interest from the European trio is “fake news” and if it is not false then he believes fans will “see the best” of their chairman Daniel Levy.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Over the course of the season, Sissoko has played 33 matches in all competitions for his side, supplying only four assists.

He has also played 24 Premier League games, however, he has also started six of those encounters, including the win against the Foxes on Thursday night.
