Wenger delivers verdict ahead of Tottenham v Arsenal

By Dominic Toner

Arsene Wenger insists that Arsenal will be solely focused on themselves ahead of their game against Tottenham.

The north London rivals clash on Sunday in the Premier League and there is certainly lots to play for both of them.

The Gunners are sixth-placed in the league table and are trying to force their way into the top-four positions for a Champions League spot.

Meanwhile, Spurs are second in the standings and are competing with Chelsea for the title.

Wenger claims that the Gunners will be mainly targeting their own game when they face a Spurs side that have won their last eight consecutive league matches.

“We play for us,” Wenger said, as quoted by football London. “In life you work for your own achievements, not for others.

”What is most important is that we go there, try to win the game and focus on our performance.”

Wenger is now likely to finish behind Spurs in the league and that will be confirmed if they lose at the weekend.

Arsenal earned a 1-1 home draw in the previous meeting at the Emirates Stadium this season, but will be expecting an even tougher match at White Hart Lane.
