Wenham blasts 'mad scenes' as two Tottenham stars ruled out of Newcastle clash
Tottenham have avoided a big blow amid the latest on Giovanni Lo Celso and Cristian Romero’s return date.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
The Atheltic reported on 7 October that Lo Celso and Romero will miss Tottenham’s trip to Newcastle after the international break.
Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni has stated the duo will not be granted an exemption from the third fixture as they were during last month’s games.
With that third game next Friday, this presents too tight of a timeframe for the Spurs duo to be ready for the Newcastle game less than 48 hours later.
This comes after last month’s incredible scenes in the game between Argentina and Brazil when COVID officials stormed the pitch.

Wenham is glad there are new regulations in place with Lo Celso and Romero now only set to miss one game.
“I’m pleased there are now regulations in place,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“It was mad scenes last time. It cost us dearly too. We were unbeaten from three and top of the league.
“I think those players not coming back knocked us slightly, not to say that’s entirely to blame for the winless run.
“This break we have had a lot of call ups. Big congratulations to Bryan Gil on his first senior Spain call up.
“He joins up with Reguilon for Spain and of course Kane is away as well.
“I’m just glad those players may only miss one game, any more than that would be a big blow.”
