'Clueless' - West Ham fans slam Bilic for tactical blunder in win v Huddersfield

By Danny Wright

West Ham fans were not happy with Slaven Bilic’s decision to substitute Javier Hernandez in the second-half of the 2-0 win over Huddersfield on Monday night.

Andre Ayew replaced the Mexican international in the 64th minute but proved to be the decisive player as he scored and supplied an assist to give the Hammers their first win of the season, lifting some of the pressure off the under-fire Bilic.

However the Croatian manager wasn’t immune to being blasted by the Irons faithful, even though his decision ultimately earned his side their first points of the campaign on their return to the London Stadium.

Hernandez signed for £16million from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer but he started the game in a wide position as Andy Carroll was named to lead the line of attack by Bilic.

West Ham fans were not happy with that supposed tactical blunder either, and took to Twitter to blast the London Stadium boss for his tactical calls.

Before Monday, Hernandez was the only player to have scored for the Irons this season when he hit a brace in the 3-2 loss to Southampton in August.

It remains to be seen how Bilic will set up his attack when his side travel to West Brom on Saturday for their next Premier League encounter with Marko Arnautovic set to return from suspension.
