West Ham fans urge Gareth Southgate to pick Hammers ace for England
By Will Butcher
West Ham fans on Twitter are desperate to see Andy Carroll receive an England lifeline after a superb run of form in the Hammers side.
The 28-year-old scored two goals against Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough on Saturday, as the Hammers moved up to tenth place with a 3-1 away win.
In what was his first ever brace away from home in the Premier League, Carroll has taken his tally to five goals in 10 games as his return from injury coincides with West Ham’s resurgence.
Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions next take to the field in just under two months, as they travel to Germany to face Joachim Low’s side on March 22 before facing Lithuania at Wembley in a World Cup qualifier.
West Ham fans are desperate to see their number nine return to the England side for the first time since October 2012, where he featured against European minnow San Marino in a 5-0 win.

A fully fit Andy Carroll should be an automatic England pick! Provides something no other England striker does! Just another Ledley King

when fit, any England manager should call him up. Guarantee we would have progressed further at 2014 World Cup with Carroll

Since his return from a long-term knee injury that he sustained in August, the Hammers have won five of their last 10 games as Carroll inspires his side’s resurgent league form.
With Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge continuing to struggle with injury and Jamie Vardy struggling to find the back of the net on a regular basis, Carroll could be handed a chance.
