Andre Ayew made his Premier League return in the game with Everton following his injury in the opening game of the season against Chelsea.
Ayew had a chance in the 67th minute after being put in by Michail Antonio, but Everton defender Bryan Oviedo got back to block his effort.
The West Ham attacker looked sharp though, after making his first appearance back for the Hammers in midweek in the EFL Cup tie against Chelsea.
Slaven Bilic will be looking to build his match fitness now as the £21million summer signing from Swansea looks to kick-start his career in east London.
West Ham fans were relieved to see him back on the pitch and see him as their main source of goals going forward.
They are hoping that he will be fit enough to start their next match against Stoke in the Premier League on Saturday.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Finally, in Ayew we have a forward capable of running in behind!

Ayew already looks 10 times better than Zaza

Damn. Ayew needed to latch onto that quicker. Just lack of match sharpness..

We need to get Ayew match fit and play him as a striker. Antonio played well, but it was mostly on the wing where he belongs!

Hopefully having Ayew back properly for the next match will help. Been severely lacking someone who can actually put the ball in the goal.

West Ham are currently 16th in the Premier League after a disappointing start to the season. They had recorded back-to-back wins in the Premier League prior to the 2-0 defeat to Everton on Sunday.
