West Ham fans react to ‘horrible’ Vitor Pereira to Nottingham Forest update: ‘They are doomed’
West Ham are about to see their relegation rivals Nottingham Forest appoint Vitor Pereira as their new manager.
The East Midlands outfit have agreed a deal to bring the former Wolves boss in after the sacking of Sean Dyche, which took place in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Pereira’s move to the City Ground is now “almost certain” to go through, as he prepares to reunite with controversial owner Evangelos Marinakis, who he has previously worked under at Olympiacos.
Just three points currently separate the Irons from the Reds, who sit just outside the Premier League’s relegation zone, and the West Ham faithful have been quick to weigh in with their verdict on their rivals’ choice.
West Ham fans delighted with Vitor Pereira news
West Ham’s survival fight has gained a new dimension in recent weeks now that Nottingham Forest are emerging as their main rivals in the battle against the drop.
The Irons are led by Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked by Forest in unceremonious circumstances back in September, depsite leading his former club into the Europa League last season.

The East Londoners have slowly reeled Forest in across their recent games, to the point where they are now within touching distance of climbing outside the bottom three.
West Ham fans now appear to be smelling blood with Pereira’s appointment at the City Ground all but confirmed, and they have taken to social media to share their delight at the news.
One supporter wrote on X that Forest are “doomed” with the Portuguese in charge, while another labelled the incoming boss as “horrible,” and also suggested that he “got lucky” at Wolves last season.
There were also questions raised as to why Forest would choose to get rid of relegation specialist Dyche amid a survival fight, while another fan added “hopefully they (Forest) haven’t given him enough time to sort it out.”
- @zak_sims: “I was genuinely worried about Dyche being in charge because he’s a relegation master, this guy isn’t.”
- @GaryJones1066: “Who cares it’s not about them or any other side above us we carry on doing what we’ve been doing and we’ll stay up simple as.”
- @Montyormontz2: “Will be just our luck for them to have the craziest new manager bounce but praying they don’t.”
How do West Ham’s next five league games compare to Nottingham Forest’s?
West Ham can count themselves unfortunate not to have beaten Manchester United in midweek, given that the visitors were rescued by Benjamin Sesko deep into stoppage time.
However, they will need to continue to replicate their promising performance against Michael Carrick’s men, as they have some difficult fixtures on the horizon in the coming weeks.
| West Ham | Dates | Forest |
| Bournemouth (H) | 21 Feb – 22 Feb | Liverpool (H) |
| Liverpool (A) | 28 Feb – 1 March | Brighton (A) |
| Fulham (A) | 4 March | Man City (A) |
| Man City (H) | 14 March | Fulham (H) |
| Aston Villa (A) | 22 March | Tottenham (A) |
Clashes with Liverpool, Manchester City and Aston Villa are all on the horizon for Nuno’s men before the end of March, while Forest also face Liverpool and City in that time.
A meeting with Fulham is also on the agenda for both clubs, who face a strikingly similar schedule in their upcoming assignments.
The next five games could potentially have a crucial say in which team survives the drop, and whoever can perform better against the top teams could gain a crucial advantage ahead of the final run-in.
