West Ham fans react on Twitter to cup victory against Chelsea

By Harvey Byrne

West Ham delivered an impressive victory over rivals Chelsea on Wednesday evening – and fans took to Twitter to celebrate the win.

Slaven Bilic’s side secured a 2-1 victory against Chelsea in the fourth round of the EFL Cup at the London Stadium.

Goals from Cheikhou Kouyate and Edimilson Fernandes put the Hammers two goals ahead, with Gary Cahill scoring a late consolation goal.

The last time the two London rivals faced each other, Antonio Conte and his Chelsea side ran out 2-1 victors at Stamford Bridge on the opening day of the season.

However, West Ham fans now had the bragging rights following the latest victory and they urged their rivals fans not to make any excuses on social media alongside their celebrations.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

The east London outfit are currently in good form following a poor start to the new campaign.

The Chelsea result has meant they have won three of their last four matches in all competitions with a trip to Goodison Park coming up on Sunday.

Ronald Koeman’s side are currently going through the opposite in bad form following a good start.

The Toffees have gone five matches without a win in all competitions and West Ham may now see it as a good opportunity to pick up another victory.
